My fundamental love is silver, and that's what links everything I do. All the pieces in this collection are either made entirely from silver, or from silver and copper. Every piece is handmade from raw materials, including s-hooks and jump rings.
Resin Collection
I started using resin in my work after being inspired by a number of fellow artists using resin in fine jewellery, such as Helen Noakes (helennoakesjewellery.com). I use resin moulds to create some of my pieces, where the creative element is in the colour, texture and construction, but more recently I've been using silver as a frame. I am developing ideas, refining techniques and building this collection.
If there is a particular colour or colour combination you would like to see in one of my resin pieces, drop me a line.
Commissions
I do take commissions, as I love being inspired by other people and I also love the pressure of being taken outside of my usual creative zone. Please contact me for a quote, with an outline of what you are looking for - I will be realistic about timescales and costs, and will break everything down for you so you can see what you would be paying for.
I made these bookmarks for a friend as gifts for Eid. The hammered copper bookmark says "Iqra" which is Arabic for "read", and also the first word of the Quran. The resin bookmarks are beach scenes, made using sand from Crosby Beach.
Crosby Beach
It's against the law to remove sand from beaches in Sefton (and much of the UK) so it's a good job that the sand from Crosby Beach forms drifts in the corners of my garden on windy days! Living so close, I spend lots of time there with my young family, and it's a wonderful place to blow the cobwebs out when life gets too busy.
